Fast Enough For Any Normal Use PC And 8TB Is A Fantastic Size For All Your Files
This SATA Disk works well and is fast despite only being 5400rpm.
As long as you use a SATA3 cable you will get a fast transfer writing/reading speed.
If the disk has not been used for a while sometimes there is a slight lag before it responds when reading from the disk. However when writing to the disk it seems fast enough for any day-to-day PC use.
All in all value for money for 8TB of space if paying around £130.
I purchased this from Japan and had to pay an additional £25 import tax, so if you can buy from the UK.
I personally don't think spending a lot more money for the 7200rpm drive will get any real sense of extra speed if you use your PC for day-to-day office applications or watching a movie file.
I would recommend this disk especially if using it as archive storage.
I've only had the disk running for a few weeks and has been reliable so far, but you would not expect anything else from a Seagate product.
Built into my sons computer. Seem to be ok for now, only time will tell about its reliability. Have used lots of Seagate hard drives before with no problems.
