Easy to use with 2 types of charging lead
The provision of leads which can be bolted to the inaccessible car battery, and left there permanently makes this exactly what I need for standard charging and maintenance charging. It is very easy to use, simply connect to the battery terminals then plug-in and select mode. It provides a reassuring display of the voltage as charging progresses, and clearly shows when full and it then automatically enters maintenance mode. Well made simple to use
Instructions omit to say the function button has to be pressed within a minute otherwise it locks, so thought at first it was faulty, however mailed Ring and a helpfull reply explained the latter. Works well. The battery clamp section of cable is short ok if charging directly the battery, however most new stop start cars have a remote negative connection post you must use as the batteries are AGM not lead acid and maybe connected to a vehicle microprocessor which can be damaged if charged directly, so be aware.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great apart from screen.
I have put a 12v socket outside of the front of the house & put the ring battery charger by the fuseboard so that everything is wired internally. To see the battery charger Ihave to open the meter cupboard. Everything works ok except that I couldnt make out the lcd screen without getting down on my knees. The screen doesnt show up at an angle you have to be in dead line of sight. So I have had to put some packing behind so that it tilts it upwards so I can read the screen. Otherwise it works ok. Watchout if you buy the truck one as it doesnt do the 6v & smaller charges. Better to buy the middle one.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice unit, let down by lack of user instruction which are very sparse
nice unit, but operating instructions very poor, not enough information as to how it should be operated correctly. so unfortunately its a case of just plug it in and see what happens. would be better if there was a user document that stated how to put it into the repair/maintain mode. Great piece of kit!!
As an elderly lady with a flat battery I was a little nervous about using it, however it is so easy to use - just connect to the battery terminals - I plugged mine into an extension lead and then plugged into the mains and switched on. Hours later the battery was fully charged and started no problem.
