Well built works great
Very nice kit Installs easily and works flawlessly. If you live on acreage and have ground squirrels this is a nice advantage to have for shooting CCI Quiets or subsonics below 1000 FPS. The Aluminum bolt weighs 3 oz and the softer spring work well together. At first I thought the price was rather high at $179 as you could almost buy another 10/22 for that price, but the quality in machining is top notch. It also makes plinking more fun. The "Quiets" are easy on the ears about 84 DB in the same range as a pellet rifle. In addition they give you a nylon bolt buffer which quiets the bolt during ejection. If the price was about $75 it would be a terrific deal but as is all the individual parts spring, rod, bolt buffer, extractor, extractor spring, firing pin, not including the bolt would cost nearly $100. Doesn’t work as of now!!
It came with no directions,and honestly it didn’t really need any , except for they needed to give torque specs for the bolt handle and mention maybe that you would need some locktite ! I tightened it to much I think and it dug into the bolt pretty deep, whether my ignorance is to blame or not, I don’t think it should affect functionality enough to where I can’t shoot more than 5 shots without a malfunction, which is the case!! quiet without a suppressor
I like to shoot the CCI quiets, both for plinking fun and for getting rid of the occasional varmint without annoying the neighbors. Normally I use a bolt gun, since the semi-autos won't cycle the 710 fps ammo. This makes it possible to run my Ruger 10/22, mostly for plinking fun, the kids love semi-auto. I do think it is a bit pricey, 2/3's the price of a whole new stainless 10/22 Takedown. But most aftermarket stuff is. It is much cheaper than buying a suppressor. I have just started using it so, I haven't put a lot of rounds on it, but so far, it looks good.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Instructions would be nice
This design of the spring and handle isn’t like the factory 10/22 bolt. The bolt handle is held in with a screw that has to be removed before the bolt handle can come out. The spring isn’t captured so, it’s possible to completely lock up the bolt if the guide rod jumps out of the pocket. Guess how I know? An hour of frustration, removing the barrel, and searching forums and it’s finally installed. It works as advertised but the choice to not use a captured spring bolt handle makes the install 5 times as difficult as it should be.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Save your money!
Charging handle broke off after first hour or so, extracted and bought a new one. New charging handle, after about two hours, became loose. After closer inspection, I realized that the charging handle had "wallowed out" the threads on the bolt. Now, after using twice, this bolt is useless.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
