  • It cuts grass...

Brilliant tool, slightly on the bulky side for my small garden but I love it regardless! Easy to start, easy to use, lots of power, even when compared to my old corded lawnmower and obviously this is so much easier to move without those pesky cables getting in the way! I own a few Makita power tools (I'm no tradesman but I love doing bits of DIY and working with wood) and I've got to say, this lives up to the Makita standard, it's a tool that just gets the job done and will just keep on going (until you need to recharge the batteries)! The little key to disable the mower is a great feature, no need to unhook the batteries, just a small key you can carry around in your pocket, helps keep my child safe! The electric brake to stop the blades is also a nice additional safety feature. This is definitely overkill for my small garden, I've never had an issue with run-time so I can't really say how long it lasts; I use 2x 5Ah Makita batteries and the machine has never come close to running out, the lawnmower hardly even goes into high power mode so there's very little drain on the batteries. Only time will tell if the machine will last, however the build quality is very good and if it's anything like Makita's other tools, it should last pretty much forever! All in all, a great tool for the job!

  • The Makita DLM460Z is a good buy.

Really pleased with the Makita DLM460Z. It cuts great, it's exceptionally quite, and looks well built. Starts on the press of a button, so no constant pulling of any starter cords anymore. Also the batteries last for multiple cuts of my lawns before needing recharging. Bought two Makita branded 18v Lithium-Ion rechargeable batteries 5Ah and a Makita double battery charger to use with this lawn mower. Be careful, there are many "For Makita" batteries which are much cheaper, they may be okay but I have no experience of these. The double charger is also very quick to recharge both batteries at the same time. This mower has a brushless electric motor and this in my view is worth paying for, as cheaper electric mowers will need their brushes replacing, and it can be difficult getting spares and taking the mower motor apart to replace them. This mower also does away with the expense annual service of an equivalent petrol motor mower, and a big plus is when I now cut the grass I just smell fresh grass and no petrol fumes and CO2.

  • Superb Battery Powered Lawnmower

I bought this Lawnmower having been a user of the LXT battery operated power tools for many years. Makita has a reputation for its engineering, quality and ability to perform well. I was not disappointed with my purchase. The Lawnmower is very easy and quick to assemble taking 15 minutes to unpack and assemble. It's cutting ability is probably the best I have experienced even when compared to my old petrol mower. I am very impressed with it's performance and quality. I strongly recommend this mower. At £500 including the purchase of two 5.0 Ah LXT batteries is very competitive when compared to other equivalent brands. I am extremely happy with my purchase. 5 Stars awarded and deservedly so.

  • Game changer

We have other Makita tools, which have proved reliable and sturdy even when abused so we thought our old Hayter lawn mower is becoming hard to state and it too heavy for the wife to cut the grass, it cuts the grass very good, battery life even with some old 3.0ah batteries dies the back and front garden, the handle folds away easy so it can go in the shed we have. It is a brushless motor so will be reliable for many years to come. It’s is a quite heavy, it’s ok for us all our garden is flat and mower friendly, pushes easy, the grass bag is easy to remove and the height is easy to adjust. Really pleased.

  • Amazingly quiet.

Very pleased with this mower. Light, quick and easy to use. Speed varies depending on load to cut automatically. Also cuts grass fine so you don't have to empty as much as my larger petrol mower. Only issue is, power hungry and eats battery power quickly. You need lots of charged batteries for a larger lawn. Will cut about 200m2 on one set of charged batteries using genuine Makita 5Amp hour batteries.

  • A Lawnmower not for the faint hearted.

This Lawnmower makes cutting grass, wether long or short an effortless task. No more having to move the electrical cord out of the way, and it is so quiet you could cut your grass at night if you had to.With 10 different cutting height settings, you can’t go too far wrong on making bald patches in your lawn, and the size of the cuttings collection box makes less journeys to the bin.At 25kgs in weight, its a little heavy if you have to lift it, however; the pros far outweigh the cons.

  • Brilliant cutter

Great product typical of Makita, really good build quality by the feel of it you wouldn’t know it was not a petrol machine until you start it really quiet and smooth with plenty of safety features, Brilliant value haven’t stopped talking about it actually purchased fir the wife as she wanted to cut the grass when I was at work as the petrol mower was too big

  • Lightweight ,and Quiet when in use.

The product is light and easy to push around ,cuts the lawn well and when cutting longer grass the electric motor automatically speeds up. Seems to be well made. Although the battery cover seems to be on the flimsy side

  • Cuts a lot of lawn without running out of power. Might be harder in the spring but hey it will still be easier and no lead. Well done Makita

Brilliant - easy to use and does a good job, even on a large lawn.
