    Quiet and well built

I did a lot of research before I bought this generator and was a little concerned that others complained of noise. I find that it meets almost exactly the manufacturer’s spec for noise (56db @ 23’), which is whisper quiet. I have a remote off the grid hunting cabin, which is powered by solar and a backup generator. I use a 10kW contractor’s generator to power a 150’ deep sump pump and for heavy tool usage. I recently bought a 55” LED tv so we could watch hockey and college football. It needed clean AC, so I considered a clean inverter (I’ve been using a chop wave inverter for led lights), but the tv draws 175W and would require me to run the 10kW generator (86db) if I wanted to watch a full game. The 1000 W clean power inverter generator seemed to be the perfect answer. It keeps the tv on, tops off my solar battery pack and charges any battery operated tools with whisper quiet power. Starts easy usually first pull and burns very little gas (0.55 gallons will last about 6 hours in my application). Will it power my table saw, sump pump, or air compressor? Heck No! But that’s not what I bought it for. I’ve only run it for about a week at this point and only have about 6 hours on it, so I will have update this review later with durability stats. So far I love it! And at the price I paid, if it only last a couple years I’ll be extremely happy.

  • Cheapest lightweight option for an inverter generator

So yes its Chinese made, but for the money, nothing else being sold will touch the price. Filled with gasoline and oil per the manual and started up after priming the fuel system. It’s quieter than I thought, and it does get louder when you load it up, but not terrible. Quality is decent. I pulled the inspection covers off and gave it a once over for fatal defects, and didn’t find anything. Plastic is of fair quality, and the forms are really good. There’s a couple spots where the case covers rub against a bolt or nut, but hey... less than $200.... I’m not worried. I’ve run it on and off for about five hours loaded and unloaded with a set of halogen construction work lamps, so it will easily pull the 1000w if it can run two 500w bulbs for 10 min and one for an hour before I shut it down. I know it could be hit or miss in a few more runs, but right now it’s a win. I did get an extra warranty from the seller.... likely a waste of $4 but hell its so cheap to start if it does die it’s covered. Also it comes with a 12v battery charge lead and a nice screwdriver for panels and a slide on plug wrench adaptor. The instructions and startup guide were very easy to read and comprehensive. Been run about 5-8 hours now, and I did the first oil change early. Mostly because I was bringing this unit to the field (military) to charge stuff when there won’t be any options. Performed just fine with one notable exception. When unit is running it must be placed on nearly perfectly flat ground or it will send engine oil into the combustion chamber and will billow blue smoke for a bit. No, it’s not rings, literally ran for hours after with no problems just when unit isn’t level. It cleared up after leveled and didn’t affect the unit in any way. I did check the oil after and it was fine. It’s entirely possible I overfilled the oil by a smidge (only takes 6-7 ounces), which would make any tilt affect it sooner. Either way it seems to provide clean enough voltage to power most devices safely.

  • Best Off the Grid Generator

Quietest, best operating generator I have ever owned, starts easily, very fuel efficient, lightweight, easy to operate. I have owned and worn out a variety of generators, have used for off the grid living for over 10 years, best one for light loads I have even owned.

  • Inexpensive peace of mind

Exactly what I need. In Emergency - Don't run fridge or AC. (Get good supply of canned food ahead of time). Run this generator for lights, Internet and to charge your batteries. It;s a good quality, quiet, small, efficient little machine. And it's Inverter! IMPORTANT! Before long-term storage, to avoid carburetor corrosion, - run non-ethanol gas through it - TrueFuel or similar.

  • Sportsman's 1000 watt gen.

Ordered this generator GEN1000I for camping and trips to the south. I opened the box, put in 10oz 10/30 oil, put the gas in and followed instructions to start it. She fired up on the 2nd pull and ran well. I tested it with some lights and a fan. It worked perfectly. Next I hooked up a 800 watt space heater. It worked a little harder with that load. The indicator light was still solid green. I added the fan, lights and a 12 volt charger. It's now using 960 watts plus, it is running faster and working harder. But the green light is still solid. After 30 minutes, I shut it down. For a little over $200, you get a 1000 watt 4 stroke perfectly running generator. It is even quiet in my little rv placed 12 foot from the rv. This is just an exceptional generator for the money. It does more than the than manufacturer says it would while still purring like a kitten.

  • Best Bang for the Buck

Wow, this this little generator really delivers!! 800 watts, 4 stroke for under $300, you just can't beat than. We're using it to power / recharge the batteries in our Pop-up tent camper. It easily handles that. It also is able to run a small 5000 btu window AC unit (~4.5 amp). It's not silent, but was definitely quite enough to run at the campground.

  • Good little generator

For its size it has enough power to run my tools, charge my trolling batteries and General small applications. For the price this is a steal of a deal. If you have large power needs this won’t work for you but for camping, charging and small tool this works great and it pretty quite too.
