Great little unit !!
I was having trouble geting my old external Samsung unit to produce a good DVD. After 3 trys, I finally had a DVD with only ONE bad spot in it. In frustration I decided to see if a new unit would resolve my problems. When the LG unit arrived, the first thing I tried to do was play the DVD with the bad spot. The LG unit played the entire DVD without an issue. None of my other players could do this. I was impressed. Next, I recreated the same DVD on the LG unit. The DVD it created played perfectly on every player I own. I can now understand why this unit is rated a top pick on several web sites. I do agree that the unit seems somewhat fragile, but if treated properly, it should provide you with solid performance. I might add, it is nice that it is powered by a single USB cord, unlike others that require 2 cords to record. Hi, this product may be good quality but one downside is that after you have purchased this item, one has to buy a software that is installed in this item. When I purchased mine, I thought it was plug and play. It was not. It came with cyberlink powerdvd software. It was mandatory to buy full suite. In the buying instructions it was not indicated. This was kind of hidden charge. I tried to play my dvds, but I couldn't do it. So I had to part with USD 69 in order to use it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great value; Ripped a couple of DVDs to MKV files with no problems
I immediately used it to rip some DVDs to MKV files, and it worked very well. It's very light weight - which I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but for the $16 price, we'll see how long it lasts. Great piece of equipment for those who still occasionally burn to disks !

For Lack of a DVD the Computer is Still Broke!
