Think I have said it all
I think it’s a brilliant idea to be able to control your light with your Mobil device but I think there a little on the expensive side not many can afford where like in my case I be needing 16 to complete my home and it’s a bungalow so those with a two story houses ? It's got design glitches that make it a no-go for my needs.
It's a dimable lamp that is alexa enabled so it should allow setting up for turning on already dimmed. It doesn't. If you turn the light on it goes straight to full brightness and then dims back down; a flash of bright light and then it's dim. That's just poor design. This is part of a number of Hive devices, heating and hot water primarily. There are five of these set up. Two connected to motion sensors and the others timed on and off. Easy to set up with three of them outside. Wifi is not an issue even some distance from the router. Hive Active Lights
If you have a Hive Hub (ours is primarily for Boiler), these light bulbs are an excellent addition. I used to have light switch timers scattered around the house which were an absolute pest to set each time we wanted the security of lights coming on when out of the house. These days are gone! Put in the new bulbs, synch (through simple Hive App) and we can schedule any timings (& even dimming) of all the bulbs in seconds. Hive beat them all.
These hive bulbs are without doubt the best smart bulbs available. I have other makes and tried other makes but none respond quite as quickly as the Hive ones - probably due to the better cloud server utilised by Hive but also in part due to the presence of the Hive hub in the home.
