Good product at a reasonable price
I did a few hours discussing with my wife her needs/desires and doing research on stand mixers before settling on KitchenAid and this particular model. There are a few European brands that may be superior, but they cost considerably more then the $300 I paid. She wanted a mixer that is able to make various types of bread, so she needed the stability of a lift rather than tilt mixer. An old (1990-era) Hobart (before KitchenAid acquired them) would have been preferable, but those are getting hard to find. They don't build them as well as they used to. The color was a minor consideration, but it helped clinch her decision. On the downside, I saw this mixer on sale for a bit less than I paid ...at Costco during Thanksgiving week.
