Heavy weight arm buster.
I found it very heavy. Without the battery it weighs in at 7 pounds. That doesn't sound much but my corded multitool weighs 4.5 pounds. When you add the battery it will be difficult to use for long periods.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Wow nice piece of kit
I was a bit dubious about it to start with but after using it for a couple of days I love it the power of it is very good. The only problem I have is the battery don't last long but I am using 3 amp batterys so I will try a 5 amp battery and see how it goes. Makita toolset in a box
Initial receipt of the multi-tool was frustrating as I hadn't realised that Makita do two kinds of battery pack; of course the batteries I already own did not fit. Other slight disappointment was that the saw blades are Faithfull rather than Makita. The box is a bit big and clumsy for the tool but has a foam insert and it means there's plenty room for all the kit; I should be able to squeeze the hurriedly ordered battery charger in as well when I get organised. Have cut a couple of bits of mdf with it by now and it is nice and easy to use; really nice to get into the corners to take off a piece of upstand at the back of my kitchen worktop.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Makita quality
I initially bought a cheap mains multi tool, not knowing how much I would use it. It rapidly became indispensable before failing. I then decided to replace it with a Makita 18LXT to match the rest of my cordless tools. I have seen other reviews criticising this tool for being heavy - well yes, it's not light, but no quality tool is going be a featherweight. The tool-less blade change is quick and positive and the variable speed extremely useful. As I use this a lot for cutting holes in plasterboard ceilings I also bought the dust extraction attachment which catches most of the dust when connected to a decent vacuum cleaner. Really pleased with this purchase. I have been using a corded multi tool for years for jobs like window repairs but it's a hassle to run a power lead to each bit of work on doing so made the decision to get a cordless multi tool a chose this one as I already have Makita tool.
