  • Valeo direct replacement

This pulley is literally a direct replacement after all the original manufacturer made it Valeo and the alternator is Valeo - perfect - so a bit apprehensive I removed the alternator which is very accessible on my Audi A4 b6 TDI avf engine luckily - id highly recommend removing the alternator though in any case as the instructions which are billiant ( a full color step by step included ) recommends an impact gun to remove the pulley - hold the pulley with gloved ✋ hand and a few left turns using a clarke 240v electric impact gun worked a treat and off it came - 80nm torque wrench counter holding with a 17mm spanner to attach the new pulley job ✔ done - I love the quality of this item from the box it came in to the amazing color instructions included which just blows your mind as most parts come with no fitting instructions or vague at best but Valeo have gone above and beyond - my original pulley had some roughness so was an excellent preventative measure as failure of the OAP can lead to premature failure of the serpentine belt and tensioner - my alternator - Valeo 140amp - 6 spline as my serpentine belt is a 6pk ( 6 spline belt ) some are 5 so definitely check also definitely check measurements of your old pulley and visually as image in advert was identical to mine - overall a very diy mechanic replacement 2x 13mm bolts secure the alternator - 1x 13mm disconect power lead - unclip electrical connector - used a pry bar gently to tease and remove the alternator - disconnect your black negative lead off your battery first though as you can get shocked if the power lead touches any metal - check your pulley - it should clockwise lock and anti-clockwise free wheel like a bicycle free wheel if its locked both ways its seized and must be replaced - mine wasnt seized but due to age and mileage it was a good preventative measure

  • Good quality and as described

Good quality item. Replaced a seized pulley and the alternator no longer squeals at low revs.
