  • Excellent for downtuning

Greetings Players, as the title 'suggests'('.'), I'd like to toss some big positives for the EJ22's, I've used this particular set for many years, have had the time and space to compare them to other brands and varieties, but I STILL find these to be the best for downtuning or just muscling up the tonality of my guitars.

Excellent set tuned D standard coupled with short scale bass strings on my Ibanez 8string. Won’t go out of tune for months

  • Best uncoated strings on the market.

The D’Addario EJ22 strings are simply the best sounding strings in the 13-56 gauge realm. The only downfall with these is they don’t stay in the sweet zone for very long. I change them around once a month. But for the price it’s a fair trade. Once you go to 13’s you likely won’t go back!

  • Great strings and great value.

D'Addario strings are consistently good and a great value for the money. I use these on my jazz box and on one of my lap steels. They sound great, last a long time and string breakage is extremely rare.

  • The best strings for higher volume and tuning stability and finger strenghtening

This is for all guitarist to read and hopefully help with developing there playing skills and there musical ear (1) these strings are a very heavy gauge string set and if you are going to use them you must have the instrument set up for using these or any gauge string you must have the guitar set up properly by a qualified and I mean qualified repairman not a bone head who says he is that being said now to the good stuff (a)these strings will increase the volume of your guitar by at least 35-45%depending on the build quality but all guitars will respond with increased volume (b)the tonal stability will amaze you when into nated and a proper set up is done for action height (c) your guitar will stay in tune much more than before as long as you don't have cheaply made tuners if you do change them to a higher quality tuning machine EX. GROVER SCHALLER GOTOH this is an important upgrade for any guitar the cheap tuners are cost cutters for the manufacturer but make your guitar deficient in what you really need and that's no slippage and string post strength and durability (d) your musical ear will become more precise and accurate to the tonal qualities of the notes produced by these strings they are spot on and extremely stable (e) these strings will make your fingers much stronger for your overall playing abilities doing your exercises and your bending techniques will improve with precise notes( these of course will be much harder to bend than 9's or 10's but after a month of practicing your 1/2 step - whole step bends you will become more precise and achieve greater strength in your fingers and your guitar will still be in tune in most cases after breaking them in you will be a much happier player not having to keep tuning every time you bend a step step and a half so you will see for yourself after a month of playing on these all that was mentioned here and your skills will improve and your guitar will have a much better tonal balance with increased volume and neck truss rod stability for your proper neck relief and these st r ings will not be prone so much to temperature changes like the lighter gauge rubber bands your used to so if you have an extra guitar that you want to try them on be my guest after a month you won't be sorry and if you only have one guitar still take the plunge the increase in quality of these will astound you once you are used to them and your finger strength increases you will be much better off than playing on the rubber bands so there you have the scoop on 13 gauge strings enjoy them and after 1 month you'll be glad you did if you want stability in your guitar and increased precision of notes and volume production this is it
