Tea afficionado?
If you REALLY like tea, and like it brewed properly with no muss, no fuss, this is your machine. It's extremely well-designed, easy to set up and use, makes brilliant tea of different types and kinds, and takes basically all of the guess-work out of proper tea brewing: temperature, length of brew, etc. The same tea I have been brewing and drinking for quite a while is brighter, more robust, less bitter using the Breville. And I set it up every evening to automatically brew tea for my husband's breakfast. It's ready when he gets up (after I have already left for work....I am not a morning person, so we rarely see each other or speak until I get home from work in the afternoon!!). I always drink tea out of china cups, never, ever use a mug or thick pottery, unless it's an herbal infusion. Tea just does not taste right to me out of a mug or thick cup. It's dull and lifeless. So I get out the cups, saucers, and a nice tea pot. When the Breville has finished brewing, I pour it all into a pre-warmed teapot and so I can enjoy the ritual of pouring tea from the pot. So far, we've tried several different kinds of black tea, darjeeling, white and green; not yet tried oolong or herbal. Yep. BEST GIFT I EVER BOUGHT MYSELF!
I love my new Breville Tea Maker! I now feel like a professional connoisseur when it comes to my tea making! I had just started trying the different tea flavors offered by Teavana but the way I was making it was rather primitive and time consuming. It also left me with a lot of questions about whether I was doing it correctly and was I getting the most out of the teas I was purchasing. Then I saw the Breville One Touch Tea Maker and although a little "pricey", I saw that this brewer left me with no doubt about whether the water temperature, or the brewing time was done correctly; I just needed to push a button and the tea maker did it all for me! This morning's tea, the first cup made with my new purchase, was just delicious and done in a fraction of the time it had been taking me to make it. I bought this for my tea-drinking wife. She loves it. Brewing involves a bit more work than doing it manually, but the end product is great. And the "keep warm" function is great at keeping that second or third cup warm. One improvement would be to allow that function (keep warm) to say on when you lift the carafe off the base. Now it turns off and you have to remember to put it back on. I use it to brew ice tea and it can do a whole pot and make it strong, which is important when you are putting ice in it. We like that you can program it for different kinds of tea and that you can also customize the brewing to fit your preferences (like my strong tea ready for ice). As to brewing time, it's basically the same. The water has to be heated to the appropriate temperature and the tea brewed for the desired time. Very nice product. Easy to use, easy to clean and brews quickly and keeps tea hot. The hot water feature is very nice as well. DO NOT get the base, bottom of carafe wet/submerge in water. These are the areas t hat connect to heat your tea. They cannot get wet. Took to work to make tea for my co-workers and they love it. It brews the tea at its optimal heat for the type of tea being used. Green tea is bitter if brewed at the same temperature as black tea. This device lets you select the type of tea and also if you like your tea strong or weak. It will keep the tea warm after finishing the cycle so you can enjoy a few more cups after the initial one. Be sure to purchase the descaling packets in order to keep it functioning properly. Another great Breville product
So far, I haven't had a Breville product I didn't love. This definitely continues the winning streak. It heats the water, steeps the tea to just the right length and lets you know when it's ready. So easy! Only slightly minor thing is fully emptying the tea basket when I'm done, but a few swishes under water and I'm done. Pretty painless overall. Never want to be without my Breville
I love this tea maker! I hope I’m never without my Breville tea pot. It takes the guesswork out of a perfect cup of tea, and I like mostly loose leaf teas, which are trickier than tea bags. Excellent machine
I was a little reluctant to spend as much money as this machine commanded for a "Mr. Tea", but it has turned out to be a wonderful device. Easy to use, and makes a wonderful pot of tea, noticeably better than otherwise. I really just wanted the timer, so that I could awake to fresh tea, but it does that much better than expected.
