The Ryobi HAMMER Drill Driver P214 18 V One+
I recently received a large group of various tools. In the lot were a few Ryobi 18v tools. I decided to add to them as it did not included a drill. I chose this model since it was listed as new out of box. After receiving it I gave it a good look over and found several features that I like. The first thing I noticed and is very functional is the magnetic area right below the front of the pistol grip. It is a great place to hold a few of your needed bits for quick access. The pistol grip is rubberized and comfortable. I really like the visual lime green which is easy to spot when looking for it. It seems as though the design was well thought out and I am glad to add it to my stable of cordless tools. If I had not got those Ryobi tools in that lot I bought, I doubt I'd have this as I do have a set of DeWalt cordless. Nothing against DeWalt as I also like them very much but I certainly believe this Ryobi drill is every bit as good. Since I am a retired home project hobbyist, I doubt my tools will ever see the use that a professional everyday contractor would give them, but there is no question this tools will do anything I will ever need it for. I am very happy with this hammer/drill.

Another great value from Ryobi
As an electrician for several decades, I had become a big Makita fan. Down fall was each year I would drop them 20" from ladders, loose them in customers attics or crawl spaces.... I soon realized that I had never owned one long enough to actually wear it out. This is when I decided to switch over to Ryobi as the cost to replace them was roughly a third that of what where considered professional quality brands like Makita, Dewalt, Bosh ..... I now own the majority of the Ryobi line up 18 volt tools. There is no doubt that they do not match up to the higher dollar brands as far as torque, battery run time and over all build quality. Bang for the Buck they are just so hard to beat though and meet the demands of most DIY as well as light professional use.

Great Hammer Drill
Really great bargain in a cordless hammer drill. The included battery is good but I went online for a higher capacity battery. Came with a spindle handle for 2 hand operation. Great for hard drilling in masonry.

needs a keyed chuck
It is a quality drill I bought it to drill holes in my garage floor, it did the job well. My only complaint is a hammer drill really needs a keyed chuck, it still did the job I needed power is good I like the handle attachment method.

GREAT Product at a GREAT Price.
My original 1 that came with the biggest kit that that make fell off my Ladder for the last time and snapped at the Battery insert area up to the Trigger. I looked on line and found this 1 at an un believable Price and I ordered it. it arrived in 2 Day's and I put right back in the same spot in my Tool Bag and it has been doing just fine..

Low cost high quality hammer drill
So far so good. The hammer option worked great for drilling into solid concrete slab. Drilled 40 - 1/4" holes over 2" deep without problem. Only time will tell if it holds up but in my experience Ryobi power tools have always handled rough everyday commercial use for years.
