I had discovered the larger model at my health club and found it very useful for working on specific areas of muscular tensions and knots. Understand that it is VERY firm and the knobs can target sensitive areas that will hurt ( in a good way) before they release. The key is to work slowly and carefully and relax into the pressure points. It appears very well made and should not compress and soften. Although these are more than other rollers, if you are looking for something very firm and designed to really do a deep massage / tension release it is worth every penny.
