Reviews" Jumper [is] one of those rare books that can be read as a YA or a book for adults; like Ender's Game or vintage Heinlein." -Cory Doctorow " Reflex is a fun, fast-paced novel... You don't need to have read Jumper to enjoy the new novel, but all three of the books mentioned here are highly recommended." -Charles de Lint, The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction " 7th Sigma calls to mind Robert Heinlein-or even Rudyard Kipling... The scenario in 7th Sigma , however, is classic sci-fi." - The Wall Street Journal, " Jumper [is] one of those rare books that can be read as a YA or a book for adults; like Ender's Game or vintage Heinlein." -Cory Doctorow " Reflex is a fun, fast-paced novel_ You don't need to have read Jumper to enjoy the new novel, but all three of the books mentioned here are highly recommended." -Charles de Lint, The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction " 7th Sigma calls to mind Robert Heinlein-or even Rudyard Kipling_ The scenario in 7th Sigma , however, is classic sci-fi." - The Wall Street Journal

SynopsisSteven Gould returns to the world of his classic novel Jumper in Impulse. Cent has a secret. She lives in isolation, with her parents, hiding from the people who took her father captive and tortured him to gain control over his ability to teleport, and from the government agencies who want to use his talent. Cent has seen the world, but only from the safety of her parents' arms. She's teleported more than anyone on Earth, except for her mother and father, but she's never been able to do it herself. Her life has never been in danger. Until the day when she went snowboarding without permission and triggered an avalanche. When the snow and ice thundered down on her, she suddenly found herself in her own bedroom. That was the first time.
The Jumper series are all good reads. Simple, escapist Sci-Fi adventure at its best.
Some of these (Jumper), I have read four times (at least). Steven writes in a manner that helps you relate to the characters well. His stories are well thought-out with many interesting facts and technology.
In particular, "Impulse" continues the really good Jumper series as David's daughter learns of her own abilities and explores these with her parents. I can't wait to read "Exo" (the next in his series). I will write a review for that in a couple weeks.
