I love the Shawl in a Ball. Each time I use it I have just enough to finish a lovely size shawl, Although it is marked with a #4 weight label, it is so light and fine to use. It creates a beautiful lightweight piece, more like a #3 or even a #2. The color gradient is gradual with long colorways, blending into each other. They are just gorgeous and so soft. I have used it for several different crochet patterns, not just the ones on Lion Brand's site and have been happy with the results. I have been crocheting for 60 years and teach crochet at 2 venues. I have not used it in a knitting project as yet, but I imagine it would work just as well and have even more yardage to use.
This was an interesting yarn to work with. It is best suited to simple stitches that allow the texture and colours to take centre stage. Complicated stitches can be frustrating as the yarn has a tendency to 'split' and snarl up. The end result is soft against the skin and quite wearable
