Vaseline in a spray can, provides a quick clean way to protect metal from the elements
After an outdoor mast clamp set completely rusted when changing a pole I wanted to protect the replacement clamp for future unscrewing. Although the old clamp was galvanised and the new one electroplated I thought about Vaseline, but remembered how messy it is. After looking for an alternative I came across this spray version, which applies quickly without mess. I’ve also protected the clamp from being soaked with a hood from rain so, hopefully, this will last for a year without reapplying. Will update on how I get on...
