Does what it says on the tin! excellent product!
at 7amps, its a much faster charger than the smaller/cheaper models. So good, wish I had 2 of them!
I've had the same trickle charger (amp meter type) for over 20 years. It still works and has been very useful. Trouble is, it always seemed a bit hit and miss when it came to charging duration and assessing the battery condition. I always used to remove the battery from the car before charging and never trusted the idea of using the charger while the battery was still connected to the car. When I found out about "intelligent chargers" I decided I was long overdue a major upgrade and went for the CTEK MXS 7.0. It's very simple to use, just connect to battery, switch on, set the required program (usually NORMAL) and forget about it. The indication lamps on the device show the battery's progress until fully charged. Full charge will be maintained without overcharging battery until the charger is disconnected. Perfect! If the battery is defective you will get a red error lamp. I tested a defective battery with NORMAL and RECOND programs. The charger attempted each program but reported an error lamp eventually in each case. Now that I have this charger I would not want to be without it. Small but powerful and versatile
I have two deep discharge caravan batteries both in need of charging and one that needs the reconditioning cycle. An older simpler battery charger wouldn't charge the old battery and wouldn't stop charging the newer one. Thankfully this CTEK charger coped well with both and with my voltmeter attached I could see that they had both reached full charge and the charger cut off and went into maintenance mode. Excellent. I also tried it on an AGM battery in my car and again it worked perfectly. Ideal for keeping a battery in top condition especially in the current lockdown period. Ctek have a great reputation for excellent chargers and battery conditioners. This one is one of their mid to range products charging at up to 7A. So far I have been pleased with its performance. I bought it to recover a couple of dead batteries. Sadly I was unsuccessful in my attempts - so I have to accept that my two batteries were beyond recovery! Sorts your battery out! Great product.
Fixed my battery issues in hours! My Audi S8 has had a habit of draining the battery when parked for more than a week. This has gone on for years, and the car would drive somewhere then not re-start, so had to be recovered or jumped. Time and time again. Even with a new high grade battery, the problem was never far away. Even when with an Audi specialist, no fault found. One overnight session with this CTEK charger, and it is like a spring chicken now. I will trickle charge every 10 days or so, as it will keep the battery in good nick during lockdown. Exellent connect and forget auto charger for all types of batteries, just connect it and it will do the rest, great quality product, very good cable connections and other plug in leads are available, the only charger you will need, only negative is the price, but if you want a quality battery charger you have to pay the price. Seems expensive, but revives and charges batteries that are otherwise dead. The facility for permanently fitting an easy connector to eliminate disconnecting the battery terminals is really worthwhile.
