Four Stroke. Repellat cum officiis aspernatur numquam minus quaerat?. PUNCTURE-PROOF DESIGN: Solid rubber construction ensures no flats, providing long-lasting performance. Read More.
Semi-solid pliable rubber tyres with ball bearing rim.
The axle/hub length is a centimetre or so shorter than a standard trolly wheel, so a couple of washers will reduce the gap. Tested on 150KG load (75Kg each wheel) and worked a treat. At last, no more flat tyres and wasted time.
Spray the entire rim and tyre with silicon spray to reduce rust and UV deterioration. Add grease to the bearings before assembly.
I bought these puncture-proof wheels to replace the existing inflatable tyres/wheels on my wife's garden trolley.
I had previously bought a replacement set of pneumatic wheels for her trolley but those were a complete waste of money and were constantly going flat - probably because the tubes and tyres were cheap and very thin. I was not going to make the same mistake twice. Puncture-Proof is the way forward!!!
I liked the look of these wheels - being bright yellow, they would contrast well with the black body of the garden trolley.
I carefully checked the axle measurements before ordering, to make sure that the wheels would be a correct fit to the trolley, and then I placed the order.
The wheels arrived very quickly and on time.
I checked the hub nuts and bolts (4 to each wheel) and found some required tightening. - only a few seconds to complete.
These yellow wheels have roller bearings inside the hub, so before fitting them I applied a liberal helping of 'copperslip' grease to each of the bearings with the aid of a lolly stick to get them 'well greased' inside the hub and bearing cage!
Each axle stub was given a quick scrub with a wire brush to remove any lurking rust or scale etc.
Using new split pins (often incorrectly referred to as 'cotter pins' which are completely different) and new washers, the wheels slipped on the axles easily and fitted perfectly. Fitting the wheels took less than a minute each.
If you are not a 'fussy engineering type', you could probably take them out of the box and fit them without any further attention, BUT, it took only an extra minute or two per wheel to give the axles a clean and the bearings a good greasing - well worth it in the long run!!!
Using new split pins is much quicker than trying to straighten the old ones and then trying to fit them to fit into the axles.
To sum up, these are great replacement wheels and we are very pleased with them The trolley rolls easily - in fact a little less effort is needed to pull it than before. The trolley has already been well used with the new wheels and now we have peace of mind that we won't have yet another puncture just when we have something heavy to move. PLUS, with those bright yellow boots on, it's very easy to see where the trolley is hiding, when it's in the garden!
Puncture Proof is the way forward!!!
