Worth paying for
My last set which were a different make (and more expensive) gave up working after 3 years , so after reading several reviews decided to try the Howard Leights and i am really pleased with them. Much more comfortable than my last set and they really do seal nicely on the ears ensuring the protection you need when out shooting. The volume adjustment is really easy and when someone is talking to you its nice and clear - without any of that echo or electronic feedback that you sometimes get. They are also nice and slim so don't get in the way of your gun. You will see cheaper and more expensive sets available but you probably won't go wrong with a pair of these - definitely would recommend.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not ideal for indoor ranges.
Used for indoor pistol,fullbore. It's a no for these,leaves ringing in the ears like a rock concert. I luckily still have cheaper,better electronic defenders. These look good though if that's what matters,maybe should not be used for shooting at all,but that's what the picture suggests as end use. Low cost defenders punch above weight
A good value product which exceeds expectations. I was concerned as they were one of the cheapest electronic defenders available but they are comfortable and sound quality/suppression is excellent. Quality product with good features.
I bought these to replace my rather worn out electronic ear defenders. Although not the cheapest (and far from the most expensive!), these seem very good quality and certainly better than the ones I have been using. Good features are the single battery compartment, using two common AAA batteries. Also the single on/off/volume, instead of the more normal twin controls, which one has to balance each time. I was concerned whether there was enough adjustment in the head band to wear these over a cap (not mentioned in any description!) but, is fine in this respect. Great value
Used once so far (on clay pigeon) could hear conversations clearly, responded well to discharge of shotgun Turned up to max, I could hear cartridges rattling in my pocket. Microphone has some "negligible" distortion when volume is turned up high, but not a problem. Comfortable to wear, easily adjusted, did not interfere with gun mount. Also kept my ears warm in cold wind ! Compared to other sets available - glad I didn't pay 3 x their price for my first pair of electronic ear defenders. Very Comfortable and easy to use ---
Nice product and very comfortable once correctly adjusted. One small gripe -- There is no visual indication to show when the things are switched on.
