  • Very good for most folks.

This is a solid, very nice system. Not quite as much power as some, but great clarity and depth of sound quality. If you want "blow out the windows", true theater sound, go for a more powerful 7.1 system. But, if you want great sound, on a budget, this is quite sufficient for most normal living rooms. Sound is very good for movies, sports, streaming Netflix, music, everything I use; very pleased. Having the digital/optical input is a big plus. The built-in DVD/BluRay player is also nice. This system is a very nice match for my Samsung smart TV. FYI, I am a professional computer tech, and I used to be a radio DJ, so I know what I'm talking about here. I would get another one, if I needed it.

  • Looks Like Love at First Sight/Sound

This player replaces a much older Panasonic DVD Home Theater system that finally died. Samsung products are often my favorite home TV/DVD/Blu-Ray options. I think this system will be added to this list. The features listed in the 43-page Operating Manual are too numerous to comprehend in the short time I've had it. However, it's obvious progress developing home electronics has come along way since the early 2000's. My favorite features [so far] have been the picture and sound quality, its integrated speaker 'tests' and the equalizer. In my condo, I could easily start a technology war with my next-unit neighbor, so I have to tune the system to have impact on the listening experience, but not upset his delicate privacy issues. These sound adjustment features let me shape the sound near to my preferred volumes for impact while not intruding. Amazing tools. The unit doesn't keep shutting itself off to save a microscopic amount of electricity after 15 minutes of inactivity. My old Panasonic had no way to turn this 'feature' off. Thanks again, Samsung. A feature I like, but it's not perfect, is the remote. Samsung limits the design of many electronics' remotes to one style. I've got four, all very similar, and use two. By feel, in a darkened room, I can't readily tell them apart. However there are some differences I'm learning to recognize. Fortunately they use buttons, not haptics, but they're not as unique feeling as they could be. The discs can be ejected using the remote, a welcome addition, but it has no internal back-light, small volume buttons buried at the top of the keypad, and little distinction in their shape or feel. Cost cutting? My older Samsung flatscreen's remote is better in these regards. A feature I dislike is the haptic controls on the front panel of the player itself. They are impossible to identify in a darkened room without a flashlight, have no physical feel, and their graphics are small and illegible. Use the remote. No more to report until I finish wading through the rest of the Operating Manual.

  • Good Value and Excellent Performance

This unit was purchased to replace cheap factory home theater equipment in an RV. It is small enough to work nicely, sounds great and has lots of nice features for customizing playback. It is also nice to include a BD player, USB port and FM receiver. Speakers are small and of the efficient ported type. The impedance of each speaker is 3 ohms so using the supplied speakers will provide optimum sound output and quality. Prior to installing I made this comparison to the existing (inferior quality) 6-ohm speakers. For this reason the only problem was mounting the speakers rather than using the existing ones. The single keyhole slot provided is not suitable for ceiling mounting or stability for this application so I bought some universal jewel cube speaker wall mounts and attached them to each speaker with double sided tape and a short screw in a hole I drilled. The sub-woofer was secured with small angle brackets behind the flat-screen TV where there was adequate room and sounds great. I couldn't be happier.

  • Samsung DVD player

Extremely disappointed with my purchase the speaker wires require special plastic clips that plug into the back of the unit and they are junk after 30 days the product is already failing the subwoofer stopped working and the speaker test is not working correctly

  • Great for setups where you don’t want to run wires.

The only reasonably priced system I was able to find that had wireless rear speakers.
