Saves buggering up drill bits, and makes the job easy to do and accurate.
It simply did the job, No fuss no bother. I had to drill eight 6 mm diameter holes through a hardened 10 mm steel bar. I tried to start this with small drill bit but the drill would not bite properly. The more pressure I put on the worse it got. I used the punch and bingo, no problem. The drill centred on the punch hole perfectly. Lesson learned. If you want to drill a perfectly accurate hole through steel then get a good punch.

Too light, too small but good quality
It's OK for what it is. I prefer a larger, heaver dot punch. The quality is good and it seems to hold its point which is usually a problem with dot punches.

Punch a Tank
Made of some of the toughest metal I've come across. Haha I doubt I could drill half the stuff this will mark, even with cobalt steel bits. This will be useful if I ever want to try and drill into, say the front of a Tank
