Great product
This was a replacement for the same Grundfos Alpha2 that had been working tirelessly for many years. I run my heating and hotwater all through the year as I am disabled and am unable to move around a lot. Using the old pump on the automatic setting has reduced the amount of electric used from the original fixed speed pump I had. The new pump should do the same.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Quietly efficient.
Left it on the auto setting so it monitors water flow, reducing the power consumed as each radiator trv restricts flow when up to the dialled temperature, also when no flow is required to heat the hot water cylinder. Average electricity usage is 11w reducing to 9w compared to the previous fixed flow rate pump at 46w (minimum speed), this also results in very quiet running. Excellent.

Not the same as the old pump
I bought this to replace the same grundig central heating pump that I have which was groaning slightly. It is not the same and stopped working shortly after start up. They have probably includes some sort of sensor which is not on the earlier version. Once I reinstalled the old grundig pump everything worked fine.
