    It is what it says it is, a manual for use in a Honda service department.

    This manual assumes you already know how to do the jobs, and lists parts, order of removal/assembly etc. shows you the parts involved and tells you if you need a special tool etc. but it doesn't give you a step-by-step method for many jobs, unlike the Haynes or Clymer manuals This manual is intended for use in a Honda garage or service department where they already have a good working knowledge of methods of repair and servicing. I looked up how to balance the carburettors on my VFR750 but it only shows a diagram and the parts involved. It says "for method refer to general service manual" in other words it assumes you already know how to do the job. Not recommended for beginners.

    Helpful manual

    Although a paper copy of the original, quality of drawings and print very good. Used it to perform service on my Honda, found the section on fairing/bodywork removal and installation very useful. You will still need the Honda owners book for some specs and general maintenance, it is a workshop manual assuming you have some mechanical knowledge. But overall very good.

    VFR400 workshop manual.

    Just the job to help when restoring or maintaining your classic bike. A Haines manual is not as comprehensive as this workshop manual, full expanded drawings for everything, a massive bonus, especially when identifying any incorrect, none original additions on your bike.
