Good and cheap for some purposes with a few limitations
To load a wadge of slides and flick through to sort it serves its purpose well and good value. To view your slides in detail may be better off with a larger screen but then most of those can only take one slide at a time. Did find that the ones already fed have a tendency to fall over but by putting the empty slide box at the back problem solved. Also some cardboard slides sometimes go through two at a time but can easily be retrieved and fed through again. Overall I do not regret buying it - would recommend if wanted for similar purposes and can cope with a few glitches but have not seen an alternative any better.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not as good as expected
Viewer is a good size and lightweight. Holds lots of slides in tray so very quick to look through. However, it seems to be very fussy as to what type of slides it will accept. I have varyious types of old slides, some are a cardboard mount but others are in like a plastic frame. The cardboard ones work tremendously well whilst the plastic ones are either too thick or too big overall to fit into viewer. I have also had a few slides get stuck in the slide mechanism and have destroyed a couple trying to get them out again!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Disappointed
Purchased this as a replacement for a Patterson Trident handheld viewer which has been a trusty friend from 1968 Disappointed with this viewer in a number of ways. No on/off switch Slide action fickle Stacking facilities unreliable with slides falling flat - this causes jamming in the viewed stack. Bulb lasted 3 days - ok a replacent only costs 99p but one expects a longer life Battery option as failed to work despite my best efforts - the contacts are weak for the weight of batteries in my opinion. The display on the box shows a full lens of the slide this is not the case. Being a Spanish manufactured product I had hoped for better. In this case the old adage'you get what you pay for' is very accurate. Despite the short comings I have completed an urgent review of some of my slides for scanning. PRETTY AS A PICTURE & PRETTY EASY TO USE
The mechanics are so simple there appears to be little that can go wrong, we just use the main bulb plugged-in and not the batteries. It does what it’s meant to do.
The review is based on my use of item so far. It does what it’s meant to do though if you put a batch of slides* into the feeder side of the viewer they jam as you try to put them through. * these Kodachrome slides in cardboard mounts. Just what I wanted!
