  • Scrade's are nice but these are great

love these knives bought one for myself then one for my brother, then 2 for my friends, We all love them. Best utility everyday carry knife that ive had. Locking ring works like a charm. Blade thin but strong. comes out of box sharp but a few stokes with stone made it razor sharp. I got all of them in carbon steel. Can't say about stainless blades but looking up the compasition of metal its a supurb steel. everyone should have at least one

  • Best knife for general use on a small budget

I have had opinel knives for years. They are tried and true. $20 for a knife that can last you many years is a bargain. Locking blade is appreciated. I would highly recommend this knife for general use age.

  • Great knife

This is about the fourth one I have had. They are great. The carbon steel holds a sharp edge and the wood handle is comfortable to use. I haven't worn them out; just lost them over the years.

  • Great knife!

Opinel knives have a great reputation that is well deserved. This knife lives up to that reputation in every way. BUT.....I'm not a big fan of it nevertheless. The quality is excellent, but I'm a bit disappointed that it's so bulky in the pocket, it feels like carrying around a roll of coins. I've read tons of reviews that said this knife was the bee's knees for daily carry, but since owning it I've given up carrying it and instead keep it in the glove box of the car. I just don't "feel it" like other people do. Now with that said, it's a stellar knife and I do use it a lot for just about everything, I simply don't like to carry it on my person.

  • Best value to performance knife I've owned.

I can suggest these opinel knives without any reservations at all. The one I'm reviewing, and the ones I prefer, are the carbon steel variants. I believe them to be the best choice, but know they require just a little more love. You can get them soaked and leave them that way, or cut through acidic foods and not clean it off or it will rust. Once you get a patina on the knife though, it looks great and has a little more resiliencey. If you're looking for a convenient, sharp, and practical knife get this. If you need something tacticool, look elsewhere.

  • Nice Knife

I fell in love with the Simplicity of the Opinel. Very, Very Sharp. Opinel has been in business for a very long time, making this knife the same way. I think it's neat when I tell older folks what I'm ordering, they're like " Oh I used to have one of those back when I was younger". I may just order a whole bunch for Christmas gifts.

  • Be Careful in handling!

Very good carbon steel, well made, sharp, but be careful handling specially opening and closing. Be sure to turn the locking ring to lock the blade open.

  • Great value for a classic folder

Solid knife, classic design. Definitely not for heavy duty use, but it has an elegant, timeless feel and it's good quality for a lot of daily tasks. Great quality and value for the price.

  • Sneaky Good

I intentionally chose the high carbon steel blade. Requires a bit more care, but is very easy to sharpen. If there is one thing I've learned in 70+ years it is that a dull blade will cut nothing but its owner. The locking mechanism takes a bit of getting used to but soon becomes 2nd nature, And at the price if you lose it, just order another!

  • Can never have too many knives. . .

Very sharp, holds an edge. I haven't used it much, but it's light in the pocket and a little different than my usual pocket knife.
