Classic Jill Scott - A1
Jill Scott - Words and Sound Vol 1 is Jill's first album release, which landed in 2000, is simply a stone cold classic in my opinion. Jill is a poet, a singer, spokeswoman, a master of coupling and weaving together, music, word, emotion and life experience/ situation into a beautiful rhythmic manifestation which is a delight to the ears and senses. This album was big in the underground neo-soul/nusoul genre, largely courtesy of the track 'Gettin In The Way', which was a favorite of the black pirate stations and reggae/soul parties at the time, so much so that the music world would take notice of Jill Scott. This is an aIbum I still play regularly to this day, and I have a large vinyl record and cd collection, which is testimony to this great album, like all good music it is timeless. Beautifully Human - Words and Sound Vol 2, released in 2004 is in my opinion a superb follow on of Words and Sound Vol 1, and another superb piece of work and offering from Jill - These two albums are the two gems from Jill, excellent stand-outs in my opinion, I love them. These from Jill, like the best of Lauren Hill, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone etc are a real joy.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
