The Peaky Blinders are coming to get you!
An absolutely brilliant series. Missed it all the first time round on BBC2 so had to catch up. I got completely immersed in the characters. Warning........there is a great deal of violence here, so not for the feint hearted. Magnificent acting by all the actors, but that Cillian Murphy has something about him.....Reminded me a bit of the Godfather in that family and wealth is all consuming.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Disappointing.
I found several parts of this incomprehensible and background not sufficiently explained. Only one minor actor had a Birmingham accent so it was hard to believe that many of the events took place there. And too much porn, boriing in fact. Excellent Entertainment
This box set has all 3 episodes. Each episode has two discs in them, 6 discs in all, each disc has 3 hours of viewing 18 hours in all. Peaky Blinders is set in the early 1900's just after the 1st World War, it is very action packed with twists and turns and a lot of being top dog, like the saying goes its not the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog, Peaky Blinders gypsies, Arthur and Tommy are excellent at showing all who try to stand in their way just how much fight is in them, BUT watch out for Polly she is just as bad, and she keeps the boys in check. Then there is the Irish copper given the task to destroy the Peaky's he is just evil and hates the Peaky's which leads to a lot of bad blood, infiltration, betrayal and revenge. Loads of gangland style violence, explicit raunchy scenes, police brutality and they are brutal, with loads of double crossings etc. I put the 1st disc on and the storyline got so good I watched the whole 6 hours worth straight off. Not every bodies type of film, but if you like all the above you are going to love this very addictive filming with superb role playing by all actors. A friend of mine lent me the first two episodes, I could not wait to get the third one off her so I brought my own set, just had to have them.............Eagerly awaiting the new series to come out. As far as good believable role playing with an excellent storyline with fabulous entertainment, you cannot go wrong in buying these films that are worth every penny.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

"Blinder" of a series.....
I had never watched this series while it was on the TV, but had heard that it was very good. Well, it isn't very good.....It is excellent !!! The three series are gripping from beginning to end and now i am just hoping the BBC decides to spend out on making a fourth season. All in all fantastic and highly recommended. violence and swearing
We had already watched series 1 and 2 so knew to expect. a lot of violence. This series is set This series starts a couple of years after the last series ended and involves Tom Shelby and the Peaky Blinders again but now they have come up in the world and are very rich. Tom is having to do undercover work for the government.. 'White Russians' are involved and the feud with the Italian gangsters start up again. Peaky Blinders - Superb entertainment
We missed 'PB' first time round and regretted it so much having read the glowing reports of the series. As series four has recently aired on BBC1 we decided to record same and catch up on series 1 - 3 via DVD box set. We are so glad that we did and are now well into the characters in this amazing story which is based on actual happenings in the 1919 / 1920s. Good entertainment about Birmingham family
This was quite a riveting series about the rise of a Birmingham family from after World War One and their not-quite-legal dealings. The scenery is atmospheric, with authentic settings, filmed from the Black Country Museum in Dudley (made all the more interesting as I have been there several times myself and I don't live that far away from it!) But who ARE the bad guys in this? is it the Shelby family? or the police? Make up your own mind. However, what really spoilt it for me was the amount of sex in it. Why on earth todays tv makers seem to think that to make something interesting for viewers is to show bums and other parts 'at it' is beyond me. It was quite offputting at times. To be honest, I would be happy sitting a five year old in front of Game of Thrones as that is much tamer than this!! Apart from this (oh, and an awful lot of swearing!) this is a very good series.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
