A fun film with great special effects
The Assassin's Creed movie, somewhat like the games, is at its best when it's focused on the Assassin's in the past. There are some incredible action scenes and special effect shots that are genuinely awesome. The movie is let down a little when it returns to the modern day, but without going into spoilers, it does build to an exciting climax. Michael Fassbender is strong in the role, playing both the main modern day and past character. Jeremy Irons plays his role well, and overall the other characters are likable enough. This movie is best kept for fans of the series or people who enjoy easy going, popcorn style action movies.
