A vital piece of suppressed history
Night Will Fall is made up largely of edited footage from the professional film crews that were embedded in the armies liberating the Nazi concentration and death camps. It is sensitively narrated by Helena Bonham-Carter and brilliantly edited. It is very hard to watch as it pulls few punches particularly in the scenes from Belsen. This is a vital historical document. What is appalling is the fact that the original proposed film was suppressed at the end of the war to protect the feelings of the defeated German nation, in order to ease reconciliation, and because of a fear of sympathy for the refugees from Europe. This is a very hard film to watch, but essential viewing, it is an education rather than entertainment.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This in NOT a war film. This is a filmed contemporary record of the last days of WW2. For those having little or no idea of what occurred in concentration camps and the actions of the German military in the last weeks of April to captured civilians.
