Attractive, light weight, useful blue light indicates on, while flashing when at work. Worked with old, low capacity 2.5 SATA drives right through to a modern high capacity 2TB 2.5 SATA drive. USB3.0 super speed ability, but works perfectly well with my normal USB 2.0. Only one advisory; To open the case, press down on the upper lid with your thumb above the black plate that the lead plugs into and once the case top clicks down slide the top back with your thumb. Great way to re-purpose old drives!
I wanted to enclose a couple of 2.5 inch HDD's I had taken out of laptops and re-purpose them as external drives. Found these on Ebay and bought two of them to give them a try. They arrived quickly and with the option of 'Click and Collect' which is great for me as I am often not in to take deliveries. A very useful feature. The enclosures are a clear plastic which gives the drives a cool 'steam punk' effect and are tool free so all you need to do is separate the two halves (carefully), place the drive into the enclosure making sure you have the correct orientation to the SATA socket and push it home. Snap on the top half of the enclosure and you are done. Easy. The enclosures come with cables also, so you have everything you need to get the drives up and running. Once connected to your computer, a nice blue drive light tells you it's powered up and if all is ok with the drive, your PC will see the drive and it's ready to use. A tip: if you want cheap external storage, buy some old internal 2.5" HDDs and get these to enclose them in. You have a very useful piece of kit and you have recycled too! Win Win. The price for these enclosures is amazing and even better when you buy more than one. Well worth every penny. Thanks for reading.

A really excellent quality and value 2.5" HDD caddy. The transparency of the strong plastic case enables immediate confirmation of the particular hard drive, and the bright blue operating LED stands out among other neons and LEDs in a crowded desktop environment. It's a robust item, and so is easy to transfer from one location to another without putting stress on the USB cable connection. Heat dissipation is perfect. Reuse old laptop hard drives with clear cases.
This hard drive case is well made and the 2.5 inch hard drive fitted perfectly with no excess movement. It comes with a protective clear film which I personally keep on to reduce scratching. The benefits of a clear case is that you know at a glance the size, name and type hard drive you want to use. Easy to use and modern look
This item is easy to use. It is opened by sliding the panels. The old laptop hard drive slotted in the connectors. It did connect with my Windows 10 laptop with the USB and seems to work fine. USB3 Clear Hard Drive Enclosure for Cheap and Cheerful Storage
Very simple to use, just slide the cover open, plug the drive in close the cover and use the supplied cable to plug into a free USB port. This was plug and play on Windows 10, Linux (Ubuntu) and Mac OS (Mojave). The drive (as is usual) gets hot on prolonged use. This is normal, just make sure you provide plenty of ventilation. I've used this on HDD and SSDs of various capacity and all 'just worked'. For a cheap little enclosure it provides real value for money. This is a great bit of kit & easy to use. When my old pc packed in I saved the hard drive. Minimalist style. The clear case makes it easy to see which drive is in the caddy, customize with art, or use labels for user deployment. The standard size 2.5" SSD drive fits snuggly with no rattle. The drive indication light is a very bright blue, so it's clear when the drive is functioning and transferring data. Data transfer speeds are as expected with no issues. The cable is 40cm straightened out. I found it very straight forward and simple to use. To open; hold in both hands like a game controller, with left thumb by socket on circuit board side, and other thumb at opposite end. Press lightly with thumb of one hand at the socket end, and slide the top firmly away towards other hand using both thumbs.
