sturdy and neat
This unit is a neat and tough bit of kit. Initially, the idea was to use it for outside decorations leading up to Xmas. However, if used with a timer, every time it switches off, it needs resetting (a bit of a pain keep doing that). An extension lead was required to enable a feed from the RCD to the timer plugs (so the timer needs to be on the out-going feed from the RCD). Just a minor hiccup. The unit is still half the price of a comparative unit from a large DIY store. So I bought another for the rear of the house.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A bad design that marrs a good product.
This could have been a great product because the idea of just plugging in a RCD into a normal socket and then being able to use an external socket is brilliant. The thing is with the one I received, I couldn't close the cover on the outside socket as the clips to hold them are not long enough to close the lid. I have had to take out the rubber bushing that makes the normal 13 amp plug water resistant. Still I cannot close to lid on the plugs without having to squeeze the lid hard against the back box. I blame BG for a very badly designed cover. If they fix this then I would certainly recommend it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great item for general plugs shame about the description
Got this item for the purpose of using it for outdoor Christmas lights, the problem is it doesnt house any wide plugs as it wont close over, the description says it comes with a 3 meter cable extension, in actual fact the cable is approxomately 1 meter so its kind of missleading but the item is very easy to assemble and set upVerified purchase: YesCondition: New
