Happy birds, happy me.
Previously a great deal of the seed ended up on the ground (where the wood pigeons gobbled it up) but now hardly any is dropped. So cost per gram ingested by birds is far higher already, factor in the very reasonable price (about half what I was paying from a local garden centre) and I am quids in. Birds love it!
The birds can't get enough of this product. Every time I fill the feeders I have flocks of birds, mainly goldfinches and siskins but chaffinches and other birds, too, scrapping over it. Birds being untidy eaters throw a lot of seeds on to the ground but they don't stay there long as it's all hoovered up by even more birds, right up to some really huge wood pigeons!
