The Electric 16 Egg Boiler Steamer Poacher Cooker Omelette Maker

Is a compact multi-use device, great aid if you need several boiled eggs for a party Poached eggs slip out easily after cooking as the containers are plastic My favorite feature is cooking omelets, by using steam to cook them they turn out very light and fluffy

    UNIMPRESSED!!!

So far I am TOTALLY UNIMPRESSED with this piece of equipment. It CERTAINLY DOES NOT "say what it does on the tin" - well unless you want hard-boiled and non-runny yolk poached eggs. So so soooooooooo disappointed - I ordered this especially for Easter as I was having a lot of people round for Easter Breakfast with the main event being BOILED EGGS - in the past I have had many disasters with different requirements on eggs I really hoped this would be the answer to my prayers. For a week before Easter I tested this out - but on Easter Sunday I had 12 eggs to perfectly boil - we had calculated a time from the instructions and our tests BUT NONE OF THE EGGS turned out how anyone wanted them is was just AWFUL!!!! I had not tried poached eggs until the other day - this ALSO WAS A DISASTER - the first 2 cooked well - not as runny as I'd have liked but ok the next 2 the white just didn't set - yet they were the same sized eggs from the same box and done for the same time - by the time the white had cooked the yolk was completely hard. I have NEVER been so DISSAPOINTED with a piece of equipment in my life!! i WOULD NOT NOT NOT reccomend this to anyone who prefers their eggs runny - if you want hard boiled and over-cooked yolks everytime then this is the kitchen gadget for you!!!!!!

  • Compact but ideal

Two tiers all separate for easy cleaning . Could do with an alarm sound to notify it has finish. Runs for 8-10 mins and switches of once the water is used up. Cooks perfect eggs every time for us. Use spray oil in the poach trays

  • Von Shef Egg boiler

Only used it to boil eggs so far and the key is to experiment with the times, start high and gradually reduce the time until you get the eggs exactly how you like them. The boiler works on the principle that once all the water has evaporated it switches off automatically but the times given in the brief instruction manual are for 8 or 16 eggs, so what is the time for 2 or 3 eggs ? This is the reason why you need to experiment, personally I used a digital timer and set the time high for hard boiled eggs and then next time I used the boiler reduced the time and kept going that way until I got the eggs done how I like them. If you have no patience or just want to switch the thing on and forget about it then you may be disappointed. In short most people will be happy with it. Never tried poached eggs but will use the same principle as above

  • Egg-cellent!!!!

Our family, of six, love eggs but let's face it who wants to stand over a pan of eggs wondering whether they are cooked to the right level of runnyness!! Even with a egg cooking indicator thing it's still not an exact process not forgetting all the steam!! So with that in mind we bought a Vonshef egg cooker - what can I say - it arrived on time (ready for Easter), it is a compact, neat unit, the instructions are clear and easy to understand and the egg piercer on the bottom of the water measuring cup is a thing of genius!! As for the eggs - right on the time the boiler switched itself off and sixteen eggs were cooked to perfection (you can, of course, cook less eggs) either way they had just the right level of runnyness and the result, very happy easter, eggy, bunnies! Any steam had condensed onto lid, a quick wipe over the whole thing - once cooled - and all done! We've not tried omelettes or poached eggs yet but can definitely say if you like boiled eggs hot or later cold for snacks or making sandwiches you can't go wrong with this. Another plus is that if you register online the guarantee is two whole years. Get yourself one of these and you'll be so eggcited!!

  • Very Handy

When family visits, very handy for breakfasts, also salads, quick and easy to use, and safer than using saucepan, pushed to the back of kitchen counter, my small grandchildren cannot reach it! All in l very pleased!

  • Eggpocher

The poacher was O.K . after a few times of getting the right amount of water to poach as I like, and it's easy to use and clean, l have not tried the egg boiler yet or the omelette making, but I purchase it mainly to poach, all the best Keith.

  • Compact and efficient

The VonShef electric egg cooker is a compact steamer and takes up very little space, it is easy to assemble and is excellent for steaming eggs in their shells and for making omelet The omelette container which comes with this egg steamer is very small but I put a crack in the lid of a microwave safe plastic food container with a screw and a hammer. This allows pressure to build up inside the container when it gets hot and the pressure escapes through the crack in the lid which acts as a one way valve, allowing pressure to build up then escape at the time stopping moisture build up inside. I make omelette's all the time this way and they are very delicious!

  • Egg maker

This is a good little egg maker. I bought it for the omelet function so I could make omelettes at work (yeah at my desk 😜) but sadly it doesn't make omelettes it's does boil and poach eggs very well though and it holds 16 eggs which is amazing! Much easier than messing around with hot water and getting eggs to boil. This makes perfect eggs each time.
