A true 5 star product. This was such a simple fix for what was a potentially very expensive repair. I followed the instructions on a u tube video and the new motor was installed within 15 mins. Be aware that the screws holding the machine together and the motor in place have torx heads (two different sizes) so you will need appropriate drivers or bits. The motor looks identical to the original and works just as well; how long it lasts remains to be seen but I can see no reason why it will not last as long as the original.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Don't forget your filters!
To begin I was somewhat disappointed, there was a distinct smell emanating from my Dyson and the motor seemed to be running quite hot judging by the exhaust temperature. But then I remembered that on the video I watched describing how to fit the motor mention was made of the after motor filter. I checked this and sure enough it was filthy so a replacement was ordered and fitted and now the motor performs superbly; suction is excellent (certainly as good as the original) and both the smell and overheating have disappeared. An excellent product at a reasonable price and easy to fit, just find the right utube video. Sadly since writing the above review the motor has gone kaput. Whilst I am in no way an electrical expert I do know when a motor is in danger of burning itself out. The stench is quite horrible!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

it is not what it seems
this was not bought for a vacuum cleaner. It is now happily installed into a dog blaster. We are a small dog grooming business, and a blaster is used to dry the dogs after bathing, rather like a powerful hair dryer. The motor looks similar to the one that had just died on me, so It was purchased, arrived quickly and with slight modification fitted perfectly. It may even be slightly more powerful and quieter than the original. So for a bit of research and effort we are back in business for £15 instead of £200 for a complete dryer. Works OK so far
Looking online for a replacement motor for my Dyson DC08, that suddenly stopped, showed prices could be high. This motor was very reasonable price wise. It was slightly different size wise, and was a very tight fit, but it did, and has worked fine ever since. Utube was a great help with dismantling the machine. Haven't decided yet whether the suck is less, but with the new rotating head purchased recently before the motor stopped, it still seems to suck up the bits OK. Can be made to fit the other motor DC08
There are two types of motor fitted to the DC08. I bought this item knowing that it was the wrong one because the others are no longer made. This can be made to fit the other design by carefully trimming the rubber motor mounting rubber seal with a Stanley knife. Dyson DC19 Motor replacement
This is a good product, easy to fit thanks to Dyson being easily rebuildable. Only 1 slight hickup was there is no connection for the overheating sensor but this was simply overcome once I realised it was just not there, I dont mind at all not having the overheat sensor. Replacement type motor
It works ok but does not give same performance as original Dyson motor. But so half the price and it is fitted to a 18 year old Dyson that i use outside in garage and my workshop its fine. If you want to suck up building materials pay more and get a better motor.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Almost perfect drop-in replacement for DC11 motor.
