The only combination microwave I would ever buy.
Bought as a graded product at 50% discount from AO Outlet and delivered by their very efficient delivery service I was delighted with this Sharp R959 microwave. This is the only microwave I would ever consider buying as it fits my requirements so well. It is big enough to cook the Christmas turkey in the 40 litre stainless steel cavity and yet delicate enough to produce microwaved meringues in 90 seconds. It is a large appliance but considering that it takes the place of a both a conventional oven and a microwave I feel it merits any space it takes up on my worktops. The touch panel is flat thus easy to wipe clean; as is the stainless steel interior and the tough silvered exterior. The combination cooking menus allow me to produce succulent yet crispy roasts and save money on the power used by shortening the cooking time. The defrost facility helps if I need to prepare ingredients from the freezer in a hurry. The turntable and twin racks ensure even cooking and there are two robust, enameled, static shelves which double as baking trays. The fan oven means a reduction in cooking temperatures of 10 degrees with the proportionate reduction in energy costs. Being a very organised tightwad with one eye constantly on the electricity bill I often use the oven pre-heating cycle, when baking scones or cakes, to grill a toasted cheese sandwich or sausages. I rarely use my built in electric oven as the Sharp does it all. This model has been in production for twenty years and parts are still readily available. I have had three new Sharps in that time but only because I couldn't wait for them to be repaired so bought new. Once repaired the previous ovens were sold on and are still working; to my knowledge. Great combi oven (this is our third, we love these ovens!)
We got this to replace an earlier model which we bought many years ago. One of the great things about is is the generous 40L size. Big for a microwave, and just right for a small oven. This newer model is in energy saving mode all the time (so no clock, as far as we could see). Great family kitchen aid
For me, this is a kitchen must for a family. The size is great with the ability to have more than one item being warmed in the microwave at a single run saving energy and time. Same is realized with pizza nights. Also, I am a keen baker and cook and sometime not wanting to bother with the main oven which this oven roars into the lead than most ovens. All of your oven shelving is provided out of the box. Great heat from oven great microwave power from the inverter and the grill is awesome. Simply a joy to have if you have a family.

Makes cooking easy!
This microwave is very good. We're on our second one because we sold our previous home and the purchasers wanted our microwave too! You can cook an average sized frozen chicken in approx one hour, which is great but you can then steam your veg in just minutes. An all round great oven. Excellent replacement for microwave, oven and grill.
These are excellent. I have been using them for over 15 years, I have no oven, no separate grill, I just use this combi. This year, for the first time, I successfully cooked a family Christmas dinner on it. The 40l size allows two levels of stuff cooking at the same time. My latest purchase was because the microwave function gave up as they do after 15 years. There is now a competitor in this 40l size, but the oven only goes up to 200 degrees, which is not quite enough if you like baking. Using the grill does mean frequent cleaning because of the inevitable spatter, however having been obliged to replace my hob, and bought an induction, I find that I can very successfully 'grill' on the hob now.
