New Brita Maxtra certainly improves taste
I've been buying Maxtra ever since our local reservoir closed and we started getting water from elsewhere. We used to have soft and lovely tasting water. I could tell a slight difference with the original Maxtra and the new version almost takes us back to the old days. It is more expensive, but as I drink lots of water I may as well enjoy it!

filter has reduced limescale to almost nil kettles etc now require little descaling even after months of use. metalic taste of water also eliminated. great buy but replacement filters can be expensive however some good deals on line

We drink black tea and find that after three weeks the cups begin to get stained and the tea becomes cloudy, however for those three weeks we get excellent tea. Because there are few other brands available, Brita can charge a high price, however, the alternative would be installing a water softener in your home which isn’t always practicable or affordable.

Brita Maxtra is a definite Plus!
We have been using Brita Maxtra Cartridges for some years as this is a notoriously hard water area. Needing to stock up again, a 12 Pack of the Maxtra + is the best way to achieve the filtered water required for decent tea and coffee, and the occasional bit of cooking for the next year. Not particularly cheap, compared to some others, but very effective at doing what they are supposed to do, especially in Brita Jugs.
