Ryobi-RPH26E-26cc-Powerhead-Attachment
I bought this to replace an older Ryobi battery-start version which had been on its last legs for some time. I have the various attachments so being able to buy just the power head was a real bonus. The item was listed as 'new other'. In reality it was perfect with only the packaging showing signs of wear. Out of the box it took several attempts to get it started after the initial fuelling. This was a pain and its possible it was user error, but I've been using its predecessor for some time, so the jury's still out! Lightweight but not very Powerful!!
Although this unit is light and easy to use when you add the extension and hedge trimmer the engine is not really powerful enough!! It works fine with the strimmer attachment but for heavier work id recommend a more powerful model.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

A good replacement
Having had endless frustration trying to start my original Ryobi but also being kitted out with lots of accessories it was frustrating to find most people will not sell the powerhead on it's own. I was a bit nervous of the item being "manufacturer refurbished" and the box was a bit tatty but the unit works fine and I'm really pleased. It's easy to start and re-start which my old one never was. Hope it carries on this way. The Expand-it range is great and so I can't understand why more companies don't go down this route or why Ryobi dealers like B&Q don't offer the powerhead on it's own. The old one, despite a few repairs and frustrations lasted a good few years and did some good work so I'm hoping this will do the same.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

RPH26E Ryobi Powerhead used on Expand-it Options
Original RPH26E unit (2012) wouldn't start this season despite usual plug, carb clean etc. Purchased this as the easier option. Unit looks "As New" condition and works O/K. Time will tell whether it will outlast first unit.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Very versitile machine
Bought this to replace a tired machine which had worked extremely hard up at the allotment before the electrics failed. The new part required plus labour was almost the same price as this new drive head. Being able to buy just the head means that all the various attachments I have are still useable. So far so good
No problems with this machine so far. You can tell it has had a tiny bit of use but its virtually brand new and works fine. I’ve used it several times now and it’s perfect for me having already got a few of the attachments as my old one broke after a couple of years. As long as I get a season out of it I’ll be happy.
