About this product

Product Information

The Washburn Jazz J600 Electric Guitar is a hollowbody, semi-acoustic, electric guitar aimed at jazz musicians who want a vintage look and sound from a classic piece of gear. This is a 6-string guitar with distressed brass hardware and an antique matte finish body. This Jazz Series guitar from Washburn has a spruce top, flame maple sides, and a flame maple back. The body is seamed with white pearl block, and the tailpiece, bridge, and pick guard are real ebony for a vintage look. The Venetian cutaway and F-holes complete the appeal of this hollowbody jazz guitar. The Washburn Jazz J600 Electric Guitar fretboard is rosewood and has 20 distressed brass frets. This guitar’s inlays are MOP Block, the Nut is a 43mm cream Graphtech Nubone, and the adjustable ebony bridge has a bone saddle. A single Vintage Mini Humbucker in an H configuration handles pickup duties. The archtop front includes one ebony volume control, one ebony tone control, and a single three-way toggle switch pickup selector. The tuners are black Grover exclusive 18:1 machineheads. The headstock is ebony and features the Washburn logo above a stylized inlay design located between the string posts. The hollow body of the Washburn Jazz J600 Electric Guitar gives it a warm jazz tone. The single Humbucker pickup is positioned at the base of the fretboard and this captures the vibration of the strings seamlessly so that the music delivered to the amps is pure and clean. Acoustic guitars create resonance in the guitar body, while traditional electric guitars have a solid body and make up for the lack of resonance with electric power and amps. The Washburn Jazz J600 Electric Guitar combines the traditional sound of an acoustic guitar with the advantages of electric instrumentation to create a jazz guitar that not only sounds great, but can be used to play larger venues at higher volumes. Washburn Guitars has produced a full sounding jazz guitar that uses authentic materials and a classic design to evoke the image of a well-traveled instrument. The Washburn Jazz J600 Electric Guitar is a 6 string semi-acoustic electric jazz guitar made with imperfections and aging in the finish to give the guitar the look of vintage gear. The J600 uses real ebony wood for the tailpiece, pick guard, and bridge as well as ebony knobs to control volume and tone. In addition to the aged flame maple top and sides, the Washburn Jazz J600 Electric Guitar is fitted with distressed brass hardware to add to the vintage look. The Venetian cutaway design and F-holes in the front body lend a jazz purist face to this high-quality instrument. The black Grover exclusive 18:1 machineheads have black rubberized knobs for a unique feel, and the seams are white pearl block for a classic edge. The Washburn Jazz J600 Electric Guitar is made for jazz guitarists who want a vintage look, hollow body, semi-acoustic, electric instrument that is made with authentic materials and hardware. It comes with a hard case, strings, and a single vintage-style humbucker pickup as accessories to deliver warm jazz tones to audiences large or small.

  • Not my cup of tea ..

To begin, I am a Washburn fan. I had a Cumberland Jumbo acoustic for years, several WI66 Idols, a J5, and I still have a HB35 that after a few modifications will compete with guitars costing 5x as much. With that said, I was disappointed with this effort. Very cheaply made. I returned it soon after purchasing. I hope that Washburn will return to making quality guitars as they used to. However, it appears that their current business model is to provide budget friendly instruments first and foremost, and as we all know, budget rarely equals quality these days.

  • Nice guitar!

This is a fantastic guitar for the intermediate player(like me). Neck feels great(Gibsonish). Action is excellent. Sounds jazzy and acoustic at the same time. I play mostly unplugged but the pickup sounds good and jazzy to me and this ain't my first rodeo. if the price is right then buy one.

  • Great Jazz box for the money

I was quite impressed with this guitar as soon as I took it out of the case. I bought mine used for $345 but even at the street price, I would say it's a bargain. Nice build quality and playability. The guitar rings unplugged especially with heavier flat wounds. The pickup is adequate but nothing to write home about. If I had kept the guitar I would have changed it out and it would have been a keeper...
