And great all purpose wide angle lens
I recently photographed a rock concert and used this little guy almost exclusively. It's perfect for indoor photography and let's you get in close and still see everyone on stage. Very little distortion and good optics. The only downside is the aperture only goes up to 4, which was a bit of a pain in the dimly lit stage I was shooting. Though, my Nikon D7000 handles high ISOs fairly well so I was still able to get my shutter up to about 1/200s with an ISO of 6400Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Great value for mid range zoom
Sharp images quick focusing (although noisy) the HSM feature would be advantageous for most uses other than landscapes. Heavy and clunky but I think I could drop if off my roof and it would still function. Several reviews indicated zoom creep when pointing down. I've not had an issue with this. Tokina's 12-24/4 DX lens has long been a good choice for crop-sensor cameras, especially if you did not want to spend the money for the Nikon or Canon equivalent. But now Tokina has kept the same great performance and offered even more range with the 12-28/4 AT-X Pro lens. The excellent design and good glass is still there, and now it provides a bit more reach. Great for undistorted landscapes and interiors, plus group shots.
