I need more storage space call my laptop
I wanted to get this because it's possible for my Dell Latitude E6420 laptop to have this type of upgrade so I went for it. And I did get it in the mail finally and the Hard Drive caddy works well. but I had a problem with the braisal that it came with otherwise the Hard Drive caddy works and I'm well pleased with it. If they still make laptops like this I would have recommended it. I do not know for sure if they still make these types of laptops at this point. But I'm well pleased nevertheless i'm glad I was able to get this upgrade for my Dell Latitude E6420 laptop.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Just what I needed.
It's exactly what you would expect. I mounted a large capacity 2.5 in hard drive in it, plugged it in and it's all good. It fit nicely into the computer and the ejector works fine. As a note, I bought one from someone else for about the same price, they shipped it in a bubble wrap envelope like these guys did, but it got bent and unusable during shipping. Well built, nice fit and finish!
The caddy arrived in a bubble wrap envelope inside of a small cardboard box with Styrofoam packing. My extra 2.5” 320GB hard drive fit inside perfectly and was fastened easily in just minutes using the supplied screwdriver. The caddy then slid into my E-6520 as easy as the OEM optical drive did and the outside appearance matched the laptops fit and finish exactly. Window recognized the second drive instantly and proceeded with its short process to install the new device. A small blue LED on the face illuminates to show its working and flashes red when the drive is being accessed. I have done a test install of Windows 10 and Remix OS onto the second drive… both installed and performed as intended. The extra included SATA to USB cable adapter fit the now external optical drive nicely and it performed as expected. Great laptop addition!
I rarely need a DVD drive in my laptop, so have a cheap external USB one for when it's needed. With this adapter I'm able to have a 500 GB SSD as my primary drive and a 2 TB HDD for lots of data storage. Works fine
Slipped this into an old dell 6430.....slide in with no problems. Didn't use the screws that came with it......fit is tight enough that I didn't need them. Works but latch is flimsy.
The latch mechanism is held in place by 2 tiny screws. Only a few threads actually engage. Be prepared to reinstall those screws if you use the latch much. (I think I'll epoxy the latch mechanism next time the screws come loose.)Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

If you need a 2nd hard drive in these laptops..
You can probably do a lot better than this. It works.. for now. But it almost broke apart in a few different ways just during the first installation.
