The model is a standard EFE diecast with plastic fittings. This model was issued in 03/96 as Hebble ( cat no. 19706) and another version in the deluxe range issued in 04/98. The original is GJX847 whilst the deluxe is GJX846. Apart from the destinations the only other difference is in the near side advert, one for Whittakers and the other for Websters. The livery is well reproduced and is a mid 60s depiction. The details of the differences between when new in 1957 and when withdrawn in 1971 are quite interesting due to the increasing use of cream seemingly at every repaint ! There were 3 buses in this batch but there are no pictures of the earliest GJX845. Corgi OOC range have also released their take on GJX846 with an early livery.
The model does have several detail differences from the real vehicle ( as result of using the casting made for the Devon General model) such as no roof vents, the driver’s door should be inset to portray the sliding type fitted and rounded edges to the front mudguards( The Corgi version does have the correct shape ). Prices vary greatly with no real increase for the deluxe, I paid the same for both, a nice model but not as exciting as others
