PERFECT IRON SIGHT FOR RUGER .22 RIFLES
The original flip up sight that comes standard on a 10/22, or Ruger "American Rimfire" are totally useless for older eyes. I thought about a factory peep sight for the .22 Ruger rifles would be the ideal solution, years ago. Alas, none were to be found. Now, finally someone manufactured one. This sight is perfectly designed for open sighting. Especially for eyes that have lost their focus due to advanced age. And, since it is a OEM Ruger part, it coincides dead on with the factory front sight. Even with my old eyes, I can zero in on a target naturally, as eyes automatically see the center of the "hole" in the peep sight. I am happy finally I can have a reliable back up iron sight to compliment my scope with see thru rings. Now, I can shoot my Ruger "American Rimfire" accurately either way. Great sight! This sight is made for a mini 14 or mini 30 and does not sight in properly for the ruger 10/22
In order to make this site work on the 10/22 you will have to put on a higher front sight or machine the elevation holes on the rear sight to move the aperture lower . the quality of the sight is fine but it simple will not work if you plan on shoot at distances less that 150 yards .Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Installation on Ruger 10-22 Take Down
Installed this sight on a Ruger 10-22 Take Down. The sight base was correctly sized, permitting it to be firmly held within the dovetail slot on the barrel. Based on initial sight-in at the range, I found that my 50 yd. zero was achieved by adjusting the rear peep sight blade to the lowest reference line with plenty of available vertical movement for a longer distance zero. Aperture was large enough to see the front sight well despite the rear sight's forward mounted location. A very well made, reasonable option to consider for a peep sight while maintaining it's flip up/down capability!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
