I really, really, REALLY expected these to be substandard, cheapo knockoffs, but I figured at this price I could risk it as a gift for my girlfriend's new house. They're indistinguishable from my 20+yo Lodge pans. The only caveat is that "pre-seasoned" is a joke; the seasoning layer is very inadequate and you'll need to season them yourselves. Save Your Money.
I bought this for a friend and I am so disapointed. The box was beat up and torn like something that was returned merchandise or was laying around in a warehouse and couldn't be sold. Really BAD quality and not properly seasoned. Coking surface on 2 of them has rough and sharp area. I did additional preseason with vegetable oil and the small one show rust spots. Great deal
There is nothing like cooking fried chicken in a cast iron skillet. I also recommend the skillet for baking, particularly corn bread or brownies. Once you season these, they will last forever. Even though they say pre-seasoned, it is best to oil lightly (I used lard) and bake for an hour. Leave in oven till it cools. I store mine in there. I use the middle one for cornbread and the large one to fry in. The small one is perfect for eggs. They make the most delicious food and will last a lifetime. With a little work
I bought this set not knowing what to expect. The weight of these are nice the texture was a bit rough. I sanded he inside of the pans down to get a better surface then re-seasoned the pans. No more wobbly frying pans! 😱
My mom always used cast iron skillets so I started using them. I've been told longer you use the skillets the better they becoming more valuable they become because they cook so evenly and they never get wobbly or bent out of shape. Poorly seasoned, started rusting
If your wanting to buy this because its "pre seasoned" dont. You can spend a little less and get an unseasoned one and season it your self. I can tell these are pretty cheap.
