  • HTPC case with style and space

Purchased for a customer who wanted a good cheap HTPC for under the telly. Arrived early, well packaged, undamaged. The case itself is stylish too look at with its black and silver polished front, easy to open just two screws at the rear allowing the top to be removed only, the inside is very roomy, once the drive cages have been removed there is plenty of space to fit even a full size ATX board, i fitted a FULL ATX with an I3 which i used a AIO cpu water cooler with a 120mm x 140mm radiator. The case comes with one 120mm fan which is of good quality and quite, so with 3 120mm fans a PSU, SSD drive which there is mountings for, a 3.5" SATA hdd which also has mounting for, and blu ray player, all fitted with ease. The case is supplied with a quite a lot of screws and cable ties, with rubber grommets fitted where the SSD and HDD go, 4 front usb slots and audio out. My conclusion is that this case is of good quality, well built and thought out, LED front panel just says name of case, volume knob works quite well, overall customer was more than happy, i might just get myself one.

  • Nice case but a few minor niggles

Overall this is a stylish case. Compact, but yet quite roomy inside - plenty big enough for a full ATX motherboard with a good sized CPU heat-sink, full length double width graphics card, an optical drive and multiple hard drives with room still to spare. On the down side, the display on the front of the case is static reading 'Home Theatre PC By Jonsbo' - I was hoping this display would be usable by Windows over the internal USB connection so it could display useful information, but it is not. So, although it looks smart, it is non-functional. The other problem was the poorly designed DVD flap which is designed to hinge down when the tray ejects, but the mechanism is quite poor and the door jammed my new Blu-ray drive half-open on only the second use. Applying a very small pressure on the door to open it cause it to snap off the case!! ...so now I just have a hole. I'm sure it will be repairable with some effort, but that's not really the point. This is still a good case for the price and the overall build quality is very good, but the quality of the door mechanism is quite disappointing.

  • Good quality case with one or two design flaws

The case is generally well designed and the cooling is potentially very good. The volume knob appears to be a standard HID device and so functions without additional drivers. The LCD display is a waste of space and has an American spelling, so will be replaced with something programmable. The documentation says the fans should point outwards and this, in some mysterious way, prevents the build up of dust. I find it is more effective to direct one side's fans inward and the other outward. This guarantees a good air flow. The single fan provided is very quiet and it would be good if the case provided three fans of the same design, even if it cost more. I used a water cooled cpu fan on the left hand side which gave me some problems mounting the disks. I dismantled the disk mountings and a little drilling and repositioning allowed me to mount two disks while still clearing the cpu radiator and the graphics card. The CD door button and the power button are adjacent, which means you need to be careful otherwise you will switch it off instead of opening the cd door. On the whole, a very attractive and functional case.

  • Lovely case!

Bought to fit a full size atx board for a light gaming/htpc build. Looks amazing under the tv and really roomy inside the case for good airflow etc. Would highly recommend! Only downside is the fake vfd at the front. Would be better if it was a read lcd but it’s just dots that light up so pretty useless. I have it turned off and it looks great.
