  • Refurb 1990 Jaguar XJS gas tank

So I cheated and paid radiator shop $60 to acid clean (remove rust) as my prep. I plugged all the openings with clay wrapped in plastic wrap. It took all 16 oz to coat the tank. Did not get any back during the draining. My mechanic (wanted me to buy new tank $700) was astonished at the great results. It took about 40 mins of constantly turning tank to get it completely coated. It would have been faster if I used 24 oz.

  • A little goes a long way.

Works great. After cleaning my motorcycle gas tank with Evaporust, I dried and filled the tank with POR-15. Even after sloshing the material around for ten minutes to fully coat all surfaces, I drained the majority of the pint back into the original can. The coating dried quicker than the stated three days and color looks looks like natural metal.

  • Sealed up outboard tank that defied every effort

It takes longer to dry than instructions stated. Might be because the tank has little air flow. I used a fishtank air pump to get more air exposure. It sealed a welding seam that I tried over and over to seal. Finally success and I can get the motor working again.

  • First time user of POR-15. It just might be better than Kreem!

POR-15 sealer has the consistency of water. When you open the can you will find out that however long you stir up this sealer the solvent floats to the top. Pour it in and rotate the tank for 100% coverage. I bought a 16 ounce can and only drained out about 6 ounces. The tank was that of a 1984 Honda XL250R. Sealer was rock hard in 8 hours but must dry for 96 hours. After drying it looks just like slightly metallic aluminum paint with a clear coat over it. It is a VERY THIN coating! Remember to cover the tank with painter tape as the cured sealer cannot be removed with solvent. I got a little sealer on my workbench and neither brake cleaner or Acetone would remove it after 24 hours. When wet it is easily removed with Acetone. It doesn't say it on the can so I called the manufacturer's 1-800 number and they advised AGAINST a second coat saying it would in fact separate in time. 4 stars for now until this sealer proves itself over time. Sealer must NOT be put back into its can as it will harden and make removal of lid next to impossible! Place leftover sealer in a small plastic bottle with a tight fitting cap. Update: After 5 months with fuel in the tank I can safely say it is better than Kreem tank liner! It is impervious to 10% ethanol pump gasoline.

  • gas tank

This product works real good. You must clean the tank the best you can for it to stick. Taking the time to get the tank clean is the key to the success. It's just like painting anything the better you prepare the better the job. It made my tank look NEW. i have not used the tank yet. Giving it plenty of time to dry and cure.

  • Camaro fuel tank

Work good just follow directions and save a rusty fuel tank for a lot less than if you replace it like in my old Camaro no leaks just rust from sitting for ten years before I bought it cleaned with muratic acid and poured in the can turned for 10 minuets drained and let dry for 96 hrs looks great and I still have original tank

  • Good stuff

Seems to have don the trick. Had lots of tiny pin holes. Sealed them perfectly. Probably won't work for larger holes though as product is thin, like water or paint. Dries hard as a rock. Satisfied!!
