Economic fix for a worn latch
I thought I was going to have to spend £25 on a new lid for my Brabantia stainless steel kitchen bin when the latch broke, after some years of use. Good product but needs to be adapted to fit (my) Brabantia.
The kit needed to be adapted to work on my Brabantia bin. The default position of the female lock was too far away from the male "hook". So initially it did not work. I had to find a way to force the lock forward to get closer to the hook. Eventually found a spacer (an old nut!) which did the job!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Almost great
My own spring catch failed after 10 years so eBay to the rescue, nice and quick. Whilst waiting I found my lid had cracked across the hinge and wouldn't align anymore so needed a drastic repair. New catch fitted and it all works well again. Now my striker has never snapped so didn't need this part but that's a good job because when the catch is fitted into the lid the striker isn't long enough to press in enough to engage. Excellent purchase
I cannot confirm longevity, having only installed this replacement catch last week, but so far so good. Extremely easy to take out the old, original Brabantia catch (I used some tweezers to ease the part out) and replace with this compatible version. Cannot tell the difference.
