The D-Link DWA-140 Wireless N USB adapter gives your wireless network a serious boost. RangeBooster Technology allows this D-Link USB adapter to deliver speeds of up to 12 times faster than your regular internet. Simply plug the DWA-140 USB device into your desktop or laptop computer, follow the quick and easy setup instructions, and install the appropriate drivers, allowing for boosted network connectivity in minutes. Once you are connected, share a high-speed internet connection, photos, files, audio, and printers using the D-Link DWA-140 and RangeBooster technology. The D-Link DWA-140 Wireless N USB adapter supports WPA and WPA2 encryption, allowing you to connect securely to a wireless network. It has a frequency range of 2.4GHz to 2.462GHz and is FCC Class B and CE certified. Once all necessary setup is complete and drivers are installed, use push-button setup to connect to a wireless network in a flash. This adapter measures 3.4 x 1.1 x 0.5 inches and weighs only 0.1 pounds, making it easy to take with you if necessary. It has an operating temperature range of 32 degrees Fahrenheit to 104 degrees Fahrenheit and an operating humidity range of 10 percent to 90 percent (non-condensing). It features two LED lights to indicate a link and to indicate current activity. Included with the D-Link adapter is a protective cover for the USB adapter, product documentation, and a software CD that includes an installation wizard with quick setup guide, as well as the necessary drivers. The D-Link DWA-140 is compatible with 32-bit Windows Vista, Windows XP SP2, and Windows 2000 SP4. The device also requires a CD-ROM drive, a USB port, and 20MB of hard disk space. Use the D-Link device with a cable, DSL modem, or a wireless router; all you need is a subscription with an Internet Service Provider. The adapter is backward compatible to 802.11g networks. Good value especially for people running older OS
Works well. This is our second one. We got it because our rental uses a shared wifi that is at a distance and we needed a booster first for my and then my husband's computers. Installs easily and connects reliably
I received hardware version B2, and had no trouble installing it on both Windows 10 and Linux Mint 18.2 (dual-booting on an older Dell business desktop).
