The Easy2Start system is coupled with an ElastoStart Starter Handle to hold it steady while you pull. The grip of the saw has shock-absorbing properties to make holding the chainsaw at startup that much easier. It reduces the kickback forces that can felt during the startup process. Equipped with the Quickstop Chain Brake, the risk of injury from kickback is reduced. This feature works by stopping the chain when the inertia is great enough or when activated by the operator's hand. When activated by inertia, it will stop in less than one second. Safety features such as this can help save a life and give you peace of mind while you or your family members are using the saw.The 2-stroke gas engine boasts a 30.1 cubic centimeter displacement that yields 1.3kW, or 1.7bhp. This gives it motor speeds of 3,000 rpm when idle and 13,500 rpm at full speed. You'll have top-level performance with this reliable machine. An anti-vibration system developed by STIHL minimizes vibration during use, which helps to prevent operator fatigue. This can help you to use the saw throughout a long day and can also help to avoid repetitive motion injuries. It also includes an automatic bar lubrication design that allows it to function on less oil than traditional models. The lubrication design works so well that it can reduce the amount of bar oil used by up to 50%. This can save you money as well as wear and tear on the saw.Using an IntelliCarb Compensating Carburetor, the engine of this chainsaw automatically adjusts the air-to-fuel ratio if the carburetor becomes clogged. This protects the tool and also helps to prevent injury to the operator. Air is taken from the clean side of the filter to control the diaphragm and fuel flow. As the filter becomes dirty, the IntelliCarb Carburetor automatically adjusts the fuel flow based on the amount of air that enters.While a 14-inch bar is the most common attachment used with these saws, it is compatible with bars ranging from 12 to 16 inches. This gives you greater versatility for a variety of uses. When changing out bars, there is a side-access chain tensioner that can be adjusted with a wrench.
