Read the instructions and start with a clean chain
This stuff is of no use if you squirt a load on before you go for a ride and hope it'll lube. The chain will be quiet, but it's not an oil. Next ride it'll sound like the Tinman. Rather use a proper chain cleaner like the park tool cyclone and some degreaser. Get that chain and drivetrain looking brand new. Do this twice if needs be. Wash off and dry, use rags, use an airgun, just get it dry and all the water out, all of it. Now run the chain backwards dropping this over the inside of the links. I like to do a link by link drop first until I've gone round once then a quick few turns putting a little more over the inside of the chain. The first was to make sure you're in the rollers this next one loads the chain for a flick through all the gears to get a layer on the cogs while spinning the chain forwards. Keep spinning it, esp in higher gears to fling it deep in the chain links for a few mins. Now get a clean rag and grip the chain while you back peddle to remove the excess. Swap parts of the rag until it's coming through only slightly lubed. Now put the bike away overnight and it'll be ready in the morn. People who say it doesn't last ( as I first thought ) or gums up are not cleaning and drying the chain, applying to much and not removing excess or not leaving it long enough before riding. Could be more user friendly
This product is good value and does the job. I think that more advice could be given with the product about how to use it. Even reference to on line instructions would be good. There are only a very few lines printed on the side of the bottle which also include general safety instructions. As this is also in four other languages they hadn't got room for detailed advice. As this was my first purchase my main problem was how to get the oil to come out of the bottle. I tried cutting off some of the end of the spout with no result. Eventually I found that the spout could be unscrewed art the base revealing a pull off plastic seal. Best chain lube so far
This product is brilliant. Cleaned my step sons 2 and a half year old chain. Was thick with dust and dirt and grime. Used Muc Off chain degreaser and then Lubed it with this product due to it being summer (hence THE DRY LUBE), it went on a dream. Very noticeable to see where you have put it and totally quietened down the chain and made it a lot more smooth with less friction. Totally recommend this product. Great price too for the size.
